Cerebral Palsy Foundation to Attend COSP18 UN Conference
The Cerebral Palsy Foundation is proud to announce that we will participate as a registered member at the 18th Conference of States Parties (COSP18) to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, taking place June 10–12, 2025, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
This marks the first time a U.S.-based organization focused on cerebral palsy will attend COSP, underscoring CPF’s growing global leadership in transforming the future of cerebral palsy. It also represents a powerful step forward in ensuring that cerebral palsy has a seat at the table in international conversations about disability rights and public health.
This year’s conference theme is: Enhancing public awareness of the rights and contributions of persons with disabilities for social development.
CPF’s Board Chair, Ila Eckhoff, and Executive Director, Rachel Byrne, will join an official side event titled: Fighting for the Right to Contribute: How Persons with Cerebral Palsy Overcome Barriers to Participation and Contribute to Social Development. The session will take place at 10:15am ET on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 and be live streamed on UN WEB TV— we encourage you to tune in as several powerful thought leaders with cerebral palsy share their experiences and insights.
Stay tuned for more as we continue to elevate cerebral palsy on the global stage.
