Creating Connections: Lifespan Care

Join the Weinberg Family Cerebral Palsy Center (WFCPC) and the Cerebral Palsy Foundation (CPF) for Creating Connections, a unique one-day event bringing together healthcare professionals, people with cerebral palsy, families, researchers, and community partners to learn, connect, and strengthen cerebral palsy care across the lifespan.

The morning CEU program is designed for healthcare professionals and will feature three learning tracks focused on young children (0–3), school-aged children, and adults and transition. Sessions will translate current evidence into clinical practice across early detection and diagnosis, genetics, early intervention, orthopedic care, spasticity and dystonia management, mental health and wellbeing, adult musculoskeletal care, and preventive healthcare.

Following lunch, CP Connect will welcome individuals with cerebral palsy and their families for an afternoon of accessible education, conversation, and connection. The program will include the Lindenauer Lecture on AI & Healthcare, presented by Noémie Elhadad, PhD, alongside interactive discussions designed to help families navigate care and make informed decisions. Topics will include evaluating alternative and complementary therapies and exploring what meaningful multidisciplinary care looks like for people with cerebral palsy at different stages of life.

A Lunch & Connection Hour will serve as the bridge between the professional and family programs, creating an opportunity for clinicians, families, individuals with CP, and community organizations to connect. Resource tables will highlight supports and opportunities across research, schools, employment, disability services, recreation and sports, and community programs.

Creating Connections is about bringing the entire CP community together: connecting clinical expertise with lived experience, evidence with practical decision-making, and families with the people and resources that can support them throughout the lifespan.
